Wonder and awe

Imagine quiet Christmas music, dim lighting, candles, decorations, and two very sweet children.
"Ooo! Look!"

Jaan was supposed to take Raia by the hand and help her find her treasure first, but they couldn't drag themselves away from the decorations.
Found the treasures

We finally helped them. Maybe hidden treasures are too far above their age level? Although, now Jaan keeps wanting to hide his bag and find it. . . in the same place every time.
Reading the story

If you want to read along with them, the note in Jaan's bag was
"December 1 - 25 kopecks! There are also 25 days until Christmas, when God gave us His best present. Jesus told about one woman's gift and the way she gave it. Read: Mark 12:41-44."
Singing

We're working on the first verse of "What child is this?" in English and Russian. I think if we sing it every night, Jaan will be able to join in before long. So far, he's noticed, "We're singing about Jesus!"
Tonight they'll find this:
"December 2 - Grape candy! Grapes make jelly and juice, raisins and wine. But Jesus didn't need grapes to perform His first miracle. Read:
John 2:1-10."
Candy is such an incredible treat for them; I hope they'll still be able to concentrate on the story!

What a precious set of photos! That first one should become a Christmas card. As special as the photos are, the teaching they represent is of even greater value. Jaan and Raia are deeply blessed by your careful nurturing, and so are we. Much love....
Oh Phyllis that first picture is so heartwarming! How precious! I was wondering how everything went. Thank you for posting pictures. Did you come up with the idea and scripture passages yourself? Your bags came out very nicely too. The children could not look and sweeter!
That is so sweet!
Laura :)
Oh, no, the idea wasn't mine. I've seen it in several versions on the internet. I'm changing a few of the days, but that's it.
I agree with all of you that God has given us dear, sweet, cute, wonderful children! :-)
