Or at least that's what she says.Last night we went out for some family time. The central square here has a beautifully restored Russian Orthodox church, a Soviet war memorial, and an icon of "New Russia": MacDonald's. We visited all three. First the tank and the eternal flame, then into the church, where we enjoyed the music and beauty. Even Jaan stopped his incessant questions for a few minutes in there. After that we crossed the street and got French fries. It seemed strangely incongruous, but very Russian.

Did you have those fries Russian style with mayonnaise? I think that is how they eat them right? I know when I was in Ukraine you couldn't get ketchup at McDonalds for your fries!
