Postcards

Would you be willing to send us a postcard from the state that you live in? Will's sister sent a beautiful one from Montana a little while ago, and Jaan has been fascinated by it. He's also really trying to figure out maps, places, countries and distances. Today I printed him a map of the USA, and he was so excited to find Montana "where Anna is" and the other states that he knows about. We colored in Montana and hung the map with the postcard by it. The only problem is that now he wants more. So, if you send a post card, he'll answer it and add your card to his collection. Please?

Our address is
Хансакер
Пр Ентузiастiв 3-52
м. Дніпрорудне, Василівський р-н,
Запорізька обл.
Україна/Ukraine, 71630
(Or here it is as an image.)
That was our old address.

30 states (60%)

and Washington, D.C.!

Create your own map

Thank you!

I'll keep adding to the map as the postcards come in. . . .

OK, I guess this is a dumb question, but would it work to just copy and paste your address and then print a label? I know I couldn't copy the characters accurately.

LOL I did what Charity said when we sent the thank you note! I had no idea how to write those letters!
We'll send one from WA next time I go out.
Our tiown is shut down for all intensive purposes to celebrate the annual Holland festival!

Phyllis, did you and Will go to Resurrection Church? I don't remember the Russian spelling of it. I know I met you in Russia in '02/'03. I went to Resurrection Church with Aaron, Joel, Katie and a few other who weren't as consistent. Anyway, it's nice to find you again. :) I'll mail Jaan a postcard from California. :)

Yay for Aunt Anna!!! =-)That's so cute and his enthusiasm makes my day!

oh, and you can tell him that I'm up in the very tip top Northwestern part of Montana, next to Idaho and close to Canada.

You may get a flood from Florida...and it will most certainly include us! Much love....

Yes, printing the address out and glueing it on works just fine. Do check to be sure that your computer "knows" the alphabet, though. It should look like real letters, not gobbledygook. :-)

Yes, Kelly, we did go to Resurrection! Where are you, how are you now? Do you keep in touch with Katie and the other girls? You can email me: mayakovsky@willphyl.com.

I did a postcard project just like this with Allie and Kelsey when they were little. They got postcards from all over the place, and we put them in a photo album (the kind with those slots for putting in 4x6 pictures) so they could look at them over and over. Good fun, and good learning!

I will take care of Vermont and since I'll be working in New Hampshire the next few weeks I can send one from there. This is a great idea and it's so fun for kids to get mail.
Love, Aunt Lind

We will send one from our family in New Hampshire. If no one is able to send one from Maine let us know as we are in ME most of our summer. =)

I'll do our best to help you cover some of the west coast. We're in Hawaii now, so that would be a fun one to add to your map. Even have a SIL in Alaska, so we'll see what I can recruit and send your way...

We can send one from Texas if you don't already have that state covered and maybe even Alabama sometime in August.

I will try the copy/paste method too. I will also email you when I send it. I am due with the baby any day now, so if you don't hear from me please assume I've forgotten and email me a reminder. I'd really like to send a card from Colorado.

We'll send one! :)

Is Washington covered yet? I can take care of that. When I was a kid (and I was in Russia), I was in correspondence with one American lady from Wisconsin and what a treat it was to be getting letters from a different country. I can relate to Jaan's excitement. :-)

We'll send one from MO next week. If we made a care package to put it in what would you guys like?

Were there any more questions about our address?

Answering other questions. . . .
Leana, one is already on its way from WA. Thank you, though!

Katie, really? :-) Black licorice for Will and any little craft projects for the children to do are always appreciated. (My sister brought beads when she visited, and they LOVED that.) Also, I might email you with a health food store question/request. . . .

THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE!

Phyllis, I realize we are very behind on this. I actually bought a Lousiana post card when you first started this. Then lost it. Then bought another. Then found the first, lost the second, forgot all about it....

I just did my best to address the card and hope to visit the post office in the morning.

Hope all is well with you.

Prayers from Louisiana,
Monica

I see that you don't have one from Oregon yet. I will send one. I found your blog in my search for blogs about Ukraine. My mom, sister and I are planning a trip there in April to visit some family. My sister and I have never been there and we are looking forward to our trip.

Dont know how I've missed you guys doing this. Looks like its been many years ago. I can get you one from South Carolina and Michigan probably if you still need them.
