Brother and sister

Goodbye
Originally uploaded by fylliska.

When Jaan left for Sunday school this morning, he and Raia almost couldn't handle the thought of parting. They kept hugging each other and saying goodbye, the whole time Jaan was waiting for Will to get ready. Jaan should have been excited about going, but he almost cried: "It's going to be so sad without her!" Who would have guessed that it was only for a few hours, and that Jaan often goes to Sunday school without his little sister?

And those are the moments you cling to whenever sibling rivalry raises its ugly head....a precious glimpse of deep affection. Much love....

Love, love, love the closeness these two share! For the record, Tyler and Kelly had this same special relationship (she sobbed and sobbed on his first day of school!) and they are STILL close today!

Also let me add that if they were my kids, I'd have copies of that picture made. It is just adorable the way Raia is looking up at Jaan. Too sweet......

And I had just been thinking of requesting copies....

Oh, what adoring eyes Raia has toward her big brother. You have done well to help cultivate such loving children! Bravo!

When I saw the picture I also thought how nice. I then tried to remember a time that my older brother and sister ever cried over having to be separated! :) Ask your dad if he has any such picture! More like Julie's comment about chasing each other with brooms and slamming doors. My boys are 12 and 14 and still seem to enjoy each other (most of the time)!
